Recently Harisnya continued his inovative photo shoot series on e-mancipate.net depicting how pantyhose and or tights can fit into a style for men.
PHN:
Is it important that men have their own “men’s” tights* vs a unisex approach to hosiery and why?
Harisnya:
Yes, I believe it is it important that men have their own men’s tights/pantyhose, for the same reasons as women have their female razors, trousers, or suits. It fits better, it looks better, it feels better if it’s designed and produced for the need of the male anatomy and for us. And since most men who wear pantyhose are not crossdressers, they just don’t like to put on a female piece of clothing. Unisex? Try to put on a woman’s pair of jeans… we are different with different bodies.
PHN:
You have demonstrated how to integrate tights into club/casual wear without making men look effeminate via your latest photo shoot. In the shoot you notice tights are clearly visible by the type of outfits. Some men have experienced the stigma that goes with the wearing of hosiery “hidden” under ones trousers. How do you see hosiery fitting into men’s business attire without remaining “hidden” under trousers?

How do I see hosiery fitting into men’s business attire without remaining “hidden” under trousers? It’s not the question of hosiery but the business attire. As long as it’s long trousers, the rest remains ‘hiding’ under - regardless if it’s a dress sock or a nylon pantyhose.
PHN:
Are other fashion options other than the typical trousers a necessity to make tights for men a mainstream fashion option?
Harisnya:
I believe that trousers are absolutely enough and there is no need to go to skirts or similar items in order to make pantyhose for men fashionable. When the leg of a man can be seen, there could be pantyhose - that’s all. You can apply it to any existing fashion, style, outfit. The only question is to do it with a taste. So what I see more crucial is this part. With our photos I wanted to prove that many kind of pantyhose - even patterned - can be worn as a men. But, just like with other clothes, it’s important to take attention to colors and textures.
